Installation of your “WING TIPS®

Use “Double” Tape Pads on Rounded Fenders Use “Single” Tape Pads on Flat Fenders

LOCATING:

Locate “WingTips”® and the provided “Crossover Wire Guards” near the Top/Center of the Trailer Fenders representing the Extreme Width of the Trailer* … point the AMBER HALF so that it CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN in your REAR VIEW MIRRORS - Mark the best Corner Locations of the WingTip® and Guard using a Pencil. *The wider, the better

TAPE DOWN ... SCREW DOWN ... or BOTH:
Determine if you want to use just the Tape, or Screws, or both for mounting. If you decide to use the Screws as well as the tape, the two short screws in the Wing Tips must be replaced with the provided longer screws. You must consider that Screws will stick through the Fender and depending on their location and the distance to the tire, they may pose a threat to the tire ... 1/8" Pop Rivets may be a better answer for this situation (not provided).
WE RECOMMEND initially using just our TAPE so if you don't get an adequate "Stick Down", you can always add Screws or Pop Rivet later.

CLEANING FOR TAPE:
For a "Good Stick" application, the "Stick area" must be CLEANED. Use the provided Rubbing Alcohol Pad to clean away any Oily Residues, etc.

STICK DOWN of WING TIP:
Note: Once Double Sided Tape is properly installed - “IT'S STUCK” for good!
Hold wires so they won't get in the way (or “pop out”) during the "Stick Down" process. Remember too that Wires must be “coiled” (as supplied) in the Base so the Wing Tip is able to be “Snapped Out” of the Base about 2" for a future Bulb Change when needed.

BE SURE FENDER and TAPE are at least ROOM TEMPERATURE or slightly warmer (warm with Hair Dryer or ?? if necessary). Remember, Red Portion of Wing Tip faces Rearward and the Amber portion faces Frontward toward your Mirrors. Now, with the wires directed “Inboard”, carefully apply single or double layers of the provided 1/2 x 1” tape as shown in sketch, then remove Tape Covers and touch one small portion of one corner down next to the pencil marks made earlier.
While looking straight down on the Assembly, carefully align the Wing Tip with the other Corner Pencil Marks. Then press down firmly and in all places and directions and continue to Push Down until all areas of Tape are thoroughly stuck! Repeat this procedure with the “Crossover Wire Guards” positioned ± as sketched above while Trapping the Hook Up Wire Leads at the same time.

TAPPING INTO THE “EXISTING WIRE HARNESS”:
The White wire goes to the Ground ... the Brown wire goes to the "Running" (Tail) Light Circuit. Be sure the provided Wire Nuts dig in “evenly” to all twisted together wire “whiskers". NOTE, “Pinch type” Connectors can be used, but are usually less reliable than properly put on Wire Nuts ... Soldering is best, if practical.

TO CHANGE THE BULB:
Remove the 2 Hold Down Screws and using a small Screwdriver … PRY UP on the Wing Tip Lens at the “notched area” until it “Snaps Out” of its Lexan® base. Pull up about 2" while uncoiling the “Service Wire” below ... GRAB BOTH WIRES and pull evenly to “SNAP OUT” the BULB HOLDER. If possible, use Needle Nose Pliers as they work best and with less effort. Change the #168 Bulb and RE-ASSEMBLE in reverse order.

BONUS! SAFETY FEATURES “WING TIPS” PROVIDE YOU!
From now on, YOU CAN SEE EXACTLY WHERE YOUR TRAILER IS HEADED when backing up at Night. Also, OTHERS will always be aware of how wide your TRAILER actually is when passing in either direction, and everyone will clearly acknowledge the presence of your TRAILER at INTERSECTION CROSSINGS. WingTips® also serve as 2nd as Augment Tail Lights
